LuAnn Bennett Announces Run for Congress

LuAnn Bennett, a real estate executive who was once married to former Virginia Democratic Congressman Jim Moran (VA-8), has announced her campaign to run as a Democrat for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District seat in 2016 against freshman Republican Congresswoman Barbara Comstock. Ms Bennett, a 35-year Virginia resident, currently lives in McLean. In a Washington Post interview, Ms Bennett describes her policy positions as “definitely pro-choice”, “very much for common-sense gun…

Let’s start with Trump. In summary, he wants to round up all of the Muslims and send them to Saudi Arabia. That would include “all” even those born in the U.S. making them U.S. citizens. Trump appeals to the worst part of us. He makes statements that are clearly untrue. Today on Face the Nation, he alleged that there were people around this couple who knew what was going on…

Although it appears that the rhetoric of hate emanates solely from Donald Trump, the absolute silence from Trump’s competitors only serves to embolden the crazies who seem to be leading the GOP. When Trump mocks a reporter about his disability, not one of the other GOP candidates comments or condemns. The nuts like the murderer in Colorado Springs are given the imprimatur of not just Trump but the entire GOP…

First let me invite everyone to take a listen to C-SPAN during Morning Journal. If you were ever wondering who could support the GOP clowns, just listen. It’s downright breathtaking. I guess we are sort of used to the D.C. beltway crowd and are immunized from the craziness of the rest of the country. So even though Trump and Carson express outrageous opinions that I cannot imagine anyone supporting, I…

Now I know that I am going to offend some people who might have a literal interpretation of the Bible and some religious dogma. But after reading more and more about what Ben Carson has said and written, it gives us a good idea as to how Ben would govern. But let’s start with his problem with embellishment or even prevarication. Take the West Point debacle: Using words like accept…

Although Hal Pal won in Manassas, his hometown, he was unable to receive as many votes as our Democratic City Councilman Ken Elston did when he won. Ken received 53 more votes in 2014. One more fact shared with me by a very reliable source: Approximately $4 million was spent on the District 29 Virginia Senate race between Hal Pal and Jeremy McPike. There were a total of 30,759 votes…

Finally, tomorrow is election day. I hope everyone will be voting. But it’s come to my attention that Hal Pal and Aveni have been plotting to thwart efforts for a fair election. Specifically, they are instructing the Manassas GOP representatives at the voting precincts to aggressively approach voters and even block Democratic candidate representatives access to the voters. They will push the 40 foot access and as in the past,…

Just what did anyone expect from a group of complaining politicians? We’ve all seen how the GOP Presidential candidates decided to use the CNBC debate moderators as a means to amp up poll numbers. Attacking the questioners of what’s characterized as a left leaning media outlet was just the answer. So now the whiners want to organize the debates themselves. This must be an attractive option for the boys at…

Yesterday, you might have seen my explanation of the I66 toll plan. I won’t gloat, but feeling vindicated, I read today WAPO editorial page and found that I’m not the only one who is disgusted with Hal Pal’s scary ads about the toll or Jackson Miller’s lie-ridden signs posted in the usual GOP supporter’s yards. But wait, there’s more. Hal Pal was called to task by Gov. McAuliffe for Hal…

Hal Pal claims in his TV ads that he will put a stop to I66 tolls. Yes, darn it. The ad would lead one to believe that anyone who uses I66 inside the beltway will have to pay a toll. Of course, this is a big lie perpetuated by the Virginia GOP particularly in Northern Virginia. The lie is a means to whip up the masses who might not take…
