The Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) is launching a Summer Internship Program for its 2016 Virginia Coordinated Campaign, to train and develop our next generation of Democratic leaders.  Applicants should be excited about the massive amount of work that must be done to keep Virginia blue in November.  Summer interns will focus on organizing communities to strengthen the Democratic Party.  They will register voters, engage Democratic coalitions, and build volunteer teams across the Commonwealth.

Governor Vetoes Jackson Miller’s Anti-Living Wage Bill

Governor McAuliffe has vetoed HB 1371, Delegate Jackson Miller’s (R-50th) bill that would have prohibited Virginia localities from requiring contractors that perform services for the locality to provide their employees “with a wage or employment benefit that exceeds the requirements of state or federal law.” As the Governor’s statement explains, [a] number of localities have enacted wage policies designed to allow the employees of contractors performing services for those localities…
