AAH, oh how Hal is raking in the bucks from the Virginia GOP. Not one but two color mailings arrived in today’s mail. Somehow he thinks that being Mayor of a small town, okay city, creates some “experience” that translates into an effective state Senator. And reality check for Hal: He had zero to do with the airport which opened in the 1960’s. It has grown but not because of Hal other than his ability to fly. He did not open or create his own business. He inherited it. He does not “work” . He has never really had a job other than running his father’s business. He has had plenty of time to be a professional politician with little connection to the real people who live in our community. Shaking hands and cutting ribbons is hardly a requisite for being an effective Senator. And since Hal does not have to work, he can also be a professional meeting attender. If the number of flyers and yard signs make a Senator, Hal is a winner. If we want someone who lives the life, raises his children, actually participates as a parent in the schools and then spends his spare time helping as an EMT, we want Jeremy McPike, not another right wing free-loader like Hal.
Do I sound bitter?
