Join us for a patriotic “Democracy Defenders” rally on the plaza outside Manassas Park City Hall (Manassas Dr at Park Center Ct) on Saturday, May 24, from 1-3 pm. There will be ample free parking at the nearby VRE parking lot.
Just four months into his second term as president, Donald Trump has ridden roughshod over our nation’s democracy. Let’s demonstrate our commitment to peacefully defend our democracy to the Manassas Park community.
From 1:30-2:00 pm, we’ll hear from a series of invited speakers, including State Senator Danica Roem, State Delegates Michelle Maldonado and Josh Thomas, and our Manassas Park hosts, Mayor Alanna Mensing and Council Member Kevin Moreau.
Before and after the rally, we’ll make our presence seen and voices heard on the adjacent sidewalk along Manassas Drive.
Bring a small handheld flag and a sign that speaks to your issue(s). Patriotic attire is welcome but optional.
We’ll wrap up for the day at 3 pm, but stay tuned for our local NO KINGS rally and protest on June 14.
