CANCELLATION OF THE MANASSAS AND MANASSAS PARK CAUCUS TO ELECT DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES TO VIRGINIA’S 10th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT AND STATE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONVENTIONS
The unassembled caucus that had been scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2024 has been cancelled.
Since the number of applicants for delegate and alternate was fewer than the total allocated to the Cities of Manassas and/or Manassas Park, there is no need for an election. The Democratic Party of Virginia has allocated 9 Delegate and 3 Alternate seats to the Democratic voters registered in the City of Manassas and 3 Delegate and 1 Alternate seats to the Democratic voters registered in the City of Manassas Park for the purpose of nominating Joseph R. Biden as the Democratic candidate for President of the United States. All delegate/alternate candidates who have filed shall be deemed to be elected by the caucus and are eligible to attend the 10th Congressional District Democratic Convention on May 11 in Marshall and the Virginia State Democratic Convention on June 22 in Richmond.
