* Clerk of Ct Candidates DebateClerk of Ct Candidates Debate

A second debate between attorney Jacqueline Smith (D) and Delegate Jackson Miller (R-50th)–the two candidates running in the April 18th special election for the Clerk of the Prince William County Circuit Court–is set for Tuesday, April 4, from 7:00 to 9:30 PM, at the Dar Al-Noor Islamic Center, 5404 Hoadly Road, Manassas VA 20112. The doors will open at 6:30 PM. The debate is sponsored by the Muslim Association of Virginia, InsideNoVa, the Prince William Committee of 100, and the League of Women Voters. It will be moderated by Bruce Potter, chief operating officer of Northern Virginia Media Services, which publishes InsideNoVa. The event is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to preregister at pwclerkdebate.eventbrite.com.

MMPCDC is responsible for 17 turfs: 14 within the City of Manassas and 3 in Manassas Park. We plan to cover all 17 turfs at least once on Saturday, April 15 and then return at least once more to try to reach all the voters who were unavailable earlier. The following canvass shifts are scheduled: Saturday, April 15: 10 am – 1 pm; 2 pm – 5 pm, and 6 pm – 8 pm Sunday, April 16: follow-up canvasses between noon and 5 pm may be run at your option, but please tread lightly since it’s Easter Sunday. * NoVA Dems Activist Summit NoVA Dems Activist Summit

A Northern Virginia Democratic Activist Summit, organized by the Northern Virginia local Democratic Committee chairs, will be held on Sunday, April 23, from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm at Fairfax High School, 3501 Rebel Run, Fairfax, VA 22030. Subtitled “How Progressives Win”, this summit is a timely training and organizing opportunity to help build our local Democratic committees, prepare prospective candidates to run successful campaigns for elected office, and focus the recent wave of grassroots progressive activism in the wake of Donald Trump’s election. The list of summit speakers includes Representatives Gerry Connolly and Don Beyer, Jr. Many other elected officials and candidates in the June 13th Democratic primary will attend. The program will have two tracks of concurrent sessions: one for prospective candidates and campaign staff and one for local Democratic Committee members, progressive volunteers, and grassroots activists.
