On September 12, 2015, we were fortunate to have Senator Mark Warner attend a reception for Virginia’s 29th District Democratic Senatorial Candidate Jeremy McPike held at the home of Ken and Molly Elston. Manassas businesses KO Distilling, El Cactus, Manassas Olive Oil (Chocolate infused olive oil – yum) and one of fine beer breweries (Sorry I can’t remember the name) were well represented. This was a very large group. Other Democratic candidates were also present including Paul Ebert (Commonwealth’s Attorney) and Jacqueline Smith (Clerk of the Court). Senator Warner’s remarks reminded us all how important it is to elect Jeremy because control of the Virginia Senate is at issue. Jeremy is a very able candidate who can bring competent leadership to the Virginia Senate. We need him. I’ve heard some folks who say that they intend to vote for Hal because he “knows Richmond”. This is exactly what we don’t need. Another glad-handing Republican and his cronies define what is wrong with politics in the Republican controlled General Assembly. Hal is probably one of the worst because of his lack of integrity. In other words, it’s not possible to believe anything he says or promises. And by not openly affirming that he is a Republican, he wants to fool the voters giving them the impression that his just a folksy what? Who knows? It’s disturbing.
