THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE ONLY ONE CANDIDATE HAS FILED FOR THE NOMINATION: The Manassas & Manassas Park Cities Democratic Committee (MMPCDC) and the Prince William County Democratic Committee (PWCDC) have scheduled an unassembled caucus (aka Firehouse Primary) for Sunday, March 5, 5:00-7:00 pm, to select the Democratic nominee for an April special election for the now-vacant Clerk of the Prince William County Circuit Court position. This caucus would be held at the PWCDC headquarters, 4349 Ridgewood Center Drive, Suite 102, Woodbridge, VA 22191. The Call to Caucus, Caucus Rules, Caucus Voter Declaration Form., Candidate Filing (Declaration) Form,and other pertinent information about the nominating process are posted on our website. Note that if only one qualified candidate files by the candidate filing deadline of Friday, March 3, at 3 PM , that person will be the nominee of the Democratic Party, and the Caucus will be cancelled. Notice of the cancellation of the Caucus will be posted on the Committee websites shortly after the candidate filing deadline.

The canvass will launch out of the Carter’s home at 9612 Fairview Avenue, Manassas VA 20110 from 1 PM to 4 PM. Street parking on Fairview Ave. is available. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to have at least 30 to 50 volunteers join us to circulate ballot petitions for Lee and literature for Jackie, to help her win a very important special election for the Clerk of Court on April 18. We’ll be working our way through the Baldwin precinct. If you know of any notaries in the area, please ask them to join us! The Prince William Unit of the NAACP is organizing a candidate forum for the two candidates competing in the April 18 special election for the now-vacant Clerk of the Prince William County Circuit Court position. The forum will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 7:00 pm at First AME Church, 10313 South Grant Ave, Manassas VA 20110. The NAACP forum will focus on the criminal-justice and economic challenges facing the local African-American community and how the Clerk of the Court’s Office can support that community.
