The Manassas and Manassas Park Cities Democratic Committee will hold Assembled Caucuses on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 7:30 pm<\/b> <\/b><\/span>to elect local presidential elector delegates to the 10th Congressional District Democratic Convention and the Virginia Democratic State Convention .\u00a0 Our local caucus will be held at the\u00a0Manassas Park Police Station, 329 Manassas Dr, Manassas Park, VA 20111<\/a><\/b> .<\/span><\/p>\n

At our local caucuses, 9 state delegates and 2 alternates from the City of Manassas and 3 state delegates and 1 alternate from the City of Manassas Park will be elected by those Democrats in attendance from the respective city.\u00a0\u00a0 Every candidate for election as a delegate or alternate must be pledged to either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders and prefile with MMPCDC for election by April 11 at 5:00 pm.\u00a0 The numbers of elected slots available for delegates and alternates pledged to each presidential candidate will be allocated according to the results of the March 1 Presidential Primary, and each caucus voter will be limited to either the Clinton or Sanders delegate and alternate ballots for their city.\u00a0 If none of those ballots list more candidates than the number of allocated slots, the local caucuses will be cancelled six days in advance.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The state delegates elected at our local caucuses will later attend the 10th Congressional District Democratic Convention on May 14 and the Virginia Democratic State Convention on June 18.\u00a0 Both conventions will elect national delegates from Virginia to the Democratic National Convention.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 10th Congressional District Democratic Convention<\/strong> will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm<\/strong> at Park View High School, 400 W Laurel Ave, Sterling, VA 20164<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/strong>The 2016 Virginia Democratic State Convention<\/strong> will be held in the Richmond VA Convention Center on Saturday, June 18, and the 2016 Democratic National Convention<\/strong> will be held in Philadelphia PA on July 25-28.\u00a0 Additional information about our local caucus and the delegate selection process, including the formal Call to Caucus and delegate application forms, will be posted here in the coming weeks.<\/div>\n
