CALL FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE REORGANIZATION
Manassas and Manassas Park Cities Democratic Committee, Wednesday, January 15, 2020, 7:30 PM, Manassas City Public Works Building<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pursuant to the authority provided by the Virginia Democratic Party Plan, the Manassas and Manassas Park Cities Democratic Committee (MMPCDC) hereby calls an assembled caucus beginning at 7:30 pm on January 15, 2020 at the Manassas City Public Works Building Conference Room, 8500 Public Works Dr., Manassas VA 20110.   The purpose of the caucus will be to elect the members and then the officers of the Manassas and Manassas Park Cities Democratic Committee for the 2020-2021 biennium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I.\nCandidate Filings<\/strong>:\n         <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each\nperson seeking election as a member of the Manassas and Manassas Park Cities\nDemocratic Committee shall file a membership application form with a Committee Co-Chair\nprior to the start of the caucus.   Persons\nseeking election as an officer (chair or co-chair, vice chair, secretary, or\ntreasurer) should notify a Committee Co-Chair prior to the caucus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Membership application forms<\/a><\/strong> may be obtained from a Co-Chair by email at mmpcdc@gmail.com<\/a> or can be downloaded at the committee\u2019s website, www.manassascitydemocrats.org<\/a> or www.manassasparkdemocrats.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application form and the $25 filing fee must be received by 5:00 PM EST on January 15, 2020 by either U.S. Mail at P.O. Box 4041, Manassas, VA 20108; by email at mmpcdc@gmail.com<\/a>; or by personal delivery (call 571-358-9893 to arrange). \u00a0Alternatively, applications may be submitted in person at the reorganization caucus between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm.\u00a0 The $25 filing fee may be paid in cash, by personal check, or by credit card at our secure ActBlue webpage<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individuals\nwho cannot afford the filing fee may obtain a confidential waiver by contacting\na Co-Chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

II.\nNotice<\/strong>:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nManassas and Manassas Park Cities Democratic Committee shall provide notice of\nthis reorganization by placement of a general notice of the meeting, specifying\nthe caucus date, time, and location, along with this Call, on the Democratic\nParty of Virginia and MMPCDC websites; by email notification to the 2018-2019\nmembers of the Manassas and Manassas Park Cities Democratic Committee; through\na press release provided to all relevant online publications of general\ncirculation in Manassas and Manassas Park; and through other reasonable means\nthat will disseminate information about the caucus to registered voters in Manassas\nand Manassas Park Cities. In addition, reasonable actions shall be taken to\npromote participation in the caucus in accordance with the Affirmative Action\nprovisions of the Virginia Democratic Party Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

III.\nParticipation<\/strong>:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every\nDemocrat who is a registered voter in the Cities of Manassas or Manassas Park is\nurged to attend and participate.   Each\nparticipant must sign a written declaration the he or she:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
