{"id":693,"date":"2015-10-23T09:54:35","date_gmt":"2015-10-23T13:54:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/manassascitydemocrats.com\/?p=693"},"modified":"2015-10-23T23:51:17","modified_gmt":"2015-10-24T03:51:17","slug":"hal-pal-almost-misses-another-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/manassascitydemocrats.org\/?p=693","title":{"rendered":"Hal Pal almost misses another meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Let me start: \u00a0Everyday the Virginia GOP sends out daily talking points. \u00a0Ever wonder why all of a sudden we have this I66 toll controversy? \u00a0Well, GOP leaders and specifically Jackson Miller \u00a0and Howell create these directives to the GOP candidates and legislators so that there is a unifying message to amp up the masses. \u00a0Unfortunately, this &#8220;toll&#8221; issue is almost a year old. \u00a0I agree that there are a million questions. \u00a0The toll plan includes tolls for I66 inside the beltway between I495 and Rosslyn only during rush hour. \u00a0This plan will allow those who wish to travel solo or with only one other passenger to use I66 if desired. \u00a0To use I66 without a toll, HOV3 will be enforced just like I395. \u00a0Why a free market idea to allow those who wish to use the toll road during rush hour as such a horror, I just don&#8217;t get. \u00a0The tolls will be used for I66 improvements inside the beltway. \u00a0What&#8217;s especially galling is that the GOP offers zero ideas. \u00a0Here&#8217;s the Power Point presentation from Virginia DOT: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/inside.transform66.org\/learn_more\/asset_upload_file853_80716.pdf\">http:\/\/inside.transform66.org\/learn_more\/asset_upload_file853_80716.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Well, yesterday Corey Stewart had a town hall meeting to lie to the masses about this in order to get votes, the truth be damned. \u00a0But where was Hal Pal. \u00a0He rushed in at the end to defend his vote on the transportation package claiming that he could not support the &#8220;frivolous&#8221; bike trails. \u00a0Bike trails? \u00a0Really.
