Democratic primary elections<\/strong> will be held in the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park (and also in Prince William County) on Tuesday, June 11, 2019<\/strong>, from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, at all regular polling places<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Democratic nomination contests for the Commonwealth’s Attorney<\/strong> and the Sheriff<\/strong> serving Prince William County plus the independent Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park are on the ballot in all three localities. Amy Ashworth<\/a><\/strong> and Tracey Lenox<\/a><\/strong> are contesting the Democratic nomination for Commonwealth’s Attorney, whereas Brian Fields<\/a><\/strong> and Josh King<\/a><\/strong> are seeking the Democratic nomination for Sheriff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, a Democratic nomination for District 50 in the Virginia House of Delegates<\/strong> is on the primary ballot in the City of Manassas plus eight adjacent voting precincts in Prince William County. Delegate Lee Carter<\/a><\/strong> and Manassas Councilmember Mark Wolfe<\/a><\/strong> are competing for this nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In-person and by-mail absentee voting for this primary election have been underway since April 26. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the City of Manassas, in-person absentee voting<\/strong> takes place at the Voter Registrar’s office in the Old Town Hall building, 9025 Center St<\/a><\/strong>, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays<\/strong> (except federal holidays) through Friday, June 7<\/strong> and on Saturday, June 8<\/strong> from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the City of Manassas Park, in-person absentee voting<\/strong> occurs at the Voter Registrar’s office within City Hall, One Park Center Ct<\/a><\/strong>, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays<\/strong> (except federal holidays) through Friday, June 7 <\/strong>and on Saturday, June 8<\/strong> from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The deadline to request a mail-in absentee ballot<\/strong> for this primary election is Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 5:00 pm. Your Voter Registrar must<\/strong> receive <\/em>your mail-in ballot<\/strong>, via postal or other delivery, by Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 7:00 pm<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
