Just received a flyer from Hal addressed to me wherein he espouses his integrity. \u00a0Integrity? \u00a0This from a candidate who induced his Democratic friends and relatives to support him at the Republican convention in order to receive the GOP nomination for mayor. \u00a0Then he demonstrated more integrity when he went ballistic about Andy Harrover who was also vying for the nomination. \u00a0It was at the moment that I realized (Yes, I was one of the chumps) that I may have made a huge mistake. \u00a0Frankly, I was shocked and very uncomfortable with Hal’s attack on Andy. \u00a0I’ve been told that this is just politics. \u00a0Really? \u00a0No. \u00a0It epitomizes exactly what’s wrong with \u00a0politics.<\/p>\n
Then the final death blow. \u00a0Mayor Hal revealed his real integrity when he voted for the special use zoning related to abortion clinics as a tie breaker. \u00a0He’s a piece of work. \u00a0This is integrity? \u00a0No. \u00a0This is someone who wants to win as the heir apparent. \u00a0He decided to play to the extreme right wing of the Republicans who fill the city council chambers, bussed in by Aveni and Marshall, so he could garner the nomination for the Virginia Senate. So when it suits Hal, he plays to the Democrats who know him personally. \u00a0Then he casually smacks us in the face when he uses his power as a tie breaker to keep the extremists under his wing.<\/p>\n
