Early voting for the November 3rd General Election beings September 18. To demonstrate grassroots support for our Democratic ticket, we seek Manassas or Manassas Park residents and businesses to display candidate yard signs in front of their properties. We will start distributing yard signs shortly before Labor Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are thrilled to announce that Manassas City Council Member Sonia Vasquez Luna is now our Democratic nominee for the November 3, 2026 special election to succeed former House District 20 Delegate Michelle Maldonado<\/strong>, who resigned her office effective May 31, 2026. Ms. Vasquez Luna was the only candidate to file for that nomination by the July 24th deadline.  Our previously planned unassembled nomination caucus, which had been scheduled for August 8th, was cancelled<\/strong> after the filing deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n
